【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodforthedeterminationofpriceindexesrelatingtothepricesofprintandelectronicmediaacquiredbylibraries.Itisnotmeantforcalculatingapriceindexofthenationalmediaproduction.Themediaincludedarerestrictedtobooks,serialsanddatabases.NOTEFurtherdetailsaregivenin2.2and3.1.Itisintendedprimarilyforusebythelibrarycommunity,althoughitisacceptedthatotherorganizationsmayalsofindituseful.Itfocusesoncompilingpriceindexesonthebaseofnationalandinternationalsources,relevanttoonecountryorregionanddifferenttypesoflibraries.Differentindexeswillbeappropriatetodifferenttypesoflibrary,accordingtothetypesofmaterialintheircollections.ThisInternationalStandardpresentsamethodologyallowingforageneralindexwhichcouldbecalculatedfromsubsetsofdata,andcouldbeweightedaccordingtolocalneeds.Itintroducessamplingmethodsfortheselectionofmaterialsonwhichtobasecalculations.NotethatthisInternationalStandarddescribesindexesofprices,notofcosts.Localcostindexescanbecompiledinsteadofpriceindexeswherethereisinsufficientuniformityofpricingstructurestopermitthecalculationofpriceindexes,orasanadditionaltoolforlibraries.GuidelinesforthecalculationoflocalcostindexesaregiveninAnnexB.
