【摘要】:Constructionutilizinglightweightwallsandfloorscanhaveundesirablesoundtransmissioncharacteristicsifcareisnottakentosealjointsandvoidsthatarecommontothistypeofconstruction.Bysealingthesepenetrationsthetransmissionofsoundcanbediminished.1.1Thispracticeisaguidefortheuseofsealantstoreducethesoundtransmissioncharacteristicsofinteriorwalls,ceilings,andfloorsbyproperapplicationofsealantstojoints,voids,andpenetrationsnormallyfoundinbuildingconstruction.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3Thecommitteewithjurisdictionoverthisstandardisnotawareofanycomparablestandardspublishedbyotherorganizations.
